Get the most out of limited time with your softball players! IGCA Hall of Fame and DMACC Head Coach Bob Ligouri shows you how to run a full indoor practice, including offense and defense, in just 90 minutes! He covers hitting circuits, defensive breakdowns, and even live situations to challenge your team.
Hitting
Keep all of your players moving and get all of them the repetitions they need to become great hitters with Coach Ligouri's hitting circuit. Learn how to maximize efficiency and get an entire hitting workout completed in just 20 minutes! One particular drill Ligouri shows that is ideal for indoor practice is hitting into a punching bag with a short bat. Players will learn to drive through the ball with power in this drill that takes up very little space.
Defense
Keep the field moving with multiple groups split up by position and a coach assigned to each group. Each group is able to work on the position-specific skills they will need to be successful. There is constant motion as the catchers are able to do throw-downs to the side, while the infield practices a ground ball drill and outfielders work on fly balls.
Situations
Create real confidence in your players by putting them in game-like situations and allowing them to execute under pressure. Coach Ligouri gives four common situations, each with a goal that the players must execute. These controlled scrimmage situations are game-like and allow batters to face live pitching with live baserunners.
In all, Coach Ligouri shows you how to keep your indoor practice efficient by maximizing the time and space you have. He proves it's possible for you to accomplish everything needed to keep your team sharp while keeping practice under two hours!
